FOREWORD

Children from public rental housing have limited family resources and home environments that may not be so conducive for learning.

Whilst there are after-school care centres that provide a safe environment and boarding residences that provide accommodation, =DREAMS (Singapore) Limited (=DREAMS), a first-of-its-kind aspirational boarding residence, has gone beyond in marrying the two!

=DREAMS aims to empower promising and aspiring children to break out of poverty by providing them with opportunities to fulfill their potential, by achieving higher education within a safe learning residential environment.

This prospectus is for parents who dream of a future for their children where they are not limited by their circumstances and for children who have personal aspirations and dreams of uplifting their families. While over 90% of Singapore households live in homes of their own; agencies, corporates and the community must look to how they can help the 10% who may need socio-economic support, especially with their children’s holistic development.

As the saying goes, “it takes a village to raise a child”. We must continue to find ways to do better through concerted efforts by the government and community to forge stronger partnerships and galvanise the whole of society in enabling all Singaporeans to reach their full potential, so that we can progress as a unified society and nation.

Let us continue to recognise the value these children can bring to their families and community when given an all-rounded education and enrichment. We hope for parents to dream big with their children at =DREAMS and to live their dreams in the near future.

We must remember that the work we are doing today to improve the lives of our children and their families is building the Singapore of tomorrow.
